#INK OF INTELLECTUAL ELEGANCE
FeiMo Contemporary Calligraphy, founded in Florence in Florence in 2000, is one of the most active associations in Italy promoting cultural exchange with China and other East Asian countries. They achieve this by organizing demonstrations, workshops, educational seminars, conferences, and calligraphy demonstrations through their online gallery, FeiMo Contemporary Calligraphy (www.feimo.it).
The association is managed by master calligraphers Paola Billi and Nicola Piccioli, who together created the FeiMoSchool, the first school of calligraphy and sphragistics in Han characters in Italy. Billi and Piccioli hold the positions of President and General Secretary, respectively, in the Italian branch of the International Association of Calligraphers of Beijing and are members of the International Federation of Calligraphers of Beijing.
The FeiMo Contemporary Calligraphy Cultural Association and FeiMoSchool are recognized by prestigious institutions like Beida, Normal, and Tsinghua Universities in Beijing, the Korean Academy of Calligraphy in Seoul, and the Japanese Shodo High School in Osaka, highlighting their standing among Chinese, Korean, and Japanese academic and government authorities.
Their teaching focuses on delivering a high-quality and authentic educational experience that includes the study of classical and modern sources, with a particular emphasis on contemporary art.
Since 2001, FeiMo members have been regularly invited to participate in prestigious international Han character calligraphy exhibitions across East Asia, Europe, and the United States. Their participation has resulted in significant recognition and awards.
